Mr. Hyde maintains a broad-based civil litigation practice, handling a variety of matters such as contract disputes, fraud and business torts, mechanics liens and construction litigation, deceptive business practices, professional negligence, insurance coverage disputes, and litigation related to bankruptcy matters. Prior to joining Shaw Gussis, Mr. Hyde practiced law at a prominent Midwest commercial law firm and a prominent Chicago-area insurance defense law firm where he maintained a broad-based practice in civil litigation, including commercial litigation, construction litigation, labor disputes, medical malpractice defense, environmental/toxic injury, transportation litigation, and products liability.
Mr. Hyde has a professional background in management and marketing in the music industry. While attending DePaul University College of Law, Mr. Hyde served as Chief Justice of the DePaul Moot Court Society, was distinguished with the outstanding brief award for the DePaul Moot Court Competition, was a semi-finalist at the Cardozo School of Law’s National Moot Court competition in New York, and an octo-finalist at the Wechsler National First Amendment Moot Court Appellate Competition in Washington, D.C.
