As first or second chair in jury and bench trials, or defending clients through dispute resolution, Joe Cohen is involved in every aspect of the litigation practice. He concentrates his practice in the areas of complex business litigation and real estate litigation (including mechanics liens) as well as title insurance defense work. He additionally represents clients in a range of commercial litigation matters involving corporate governance, regulatory, and business issues. Examples of his experience include:

• Lead defense attorney for a lending institution in credit reporting disputes
• Member of legal teams in federal criminal sentencing hearings
• Oral Argument on behalf of trustees in bankruptcy hearings
• Participation in plea negotiations on behalf of white-collar criminal defendants

While in law school, Joe served as an extern for the Honorable Elaine Bucklo, Federal District Court Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.

Joe is a member of The Decalogue Society of Lawyers, and the American and Chicago Bar Associations.
