As a member of the private panel of Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees for the Northern District of Illinois for more than twenty-five years, Rick Fogel has a unique perspective when approaching an insolvency situation. He regularly counsels other bankruptcy trustees and has acted as an operating Chapter 11 trustee in a number of cases. In addition to his role as a trustee, he also represents corporate and individual clients involved in bankruptcy proceedings.

  • Trustee of The Kirk Corporation, a multimillion dollar estate involving an insolvent single family home developer

  • Chapter 11 trustee for the estates of Markwell Hillside LLC d/b/a Holiday Inn Hillside Commercial Loan Corporation, Energy Savings, Inc. and Compton Presentation Systems

  • Trustee for the estate of Madison Management Group, Inc., a case involving the assertion and settlement of a
    multi-million dollar claim against insiders of the debtor for diversion of assets

  • Trustee for the estates of Geneva Securities, Inc. and GSI Investment Group, Inc., a case involving a complex
    Ponzi-scheme

  • Trustee for the estates of Andy Frain Services, Inc. and Karroll’s Mens Fashions, Inc., cases involving the liquidation of icons of the Chicago business community

  • Rick has been given an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell and is listed as a Leading Lawyer in Illinois by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company. He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, and the Chicago Bar Association. He has been a frequent speaker at many seminars presented by these three groups.
