Representing clients in a broad range of complex business disputes in all phases of the litigation and appellate process is the focus of Jarret Raab’s litigation practice.
His clients are from many industries and include financial institutions, large publicly traded retailers, real estate developers, commercial landlords, chemical distributors, and engineering services companies. His areas of practice include:
Jarret also has experience handling high profile products liability cases, as well as lawsuits involving civil rights violations and catastrophic injuries.
Two articles of interest that Jarret has authored include "Requests for Admission in Illinois: No Longer a Trap for the Unwary," 39 Loy. U. Chi. L.J. 743 (2008), for the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal and "Sexual Discrimination: Peer Sexual Harassment and its Effect Under Title IX," 11 U. Fla. J.L. & Pub. Pol’y 235 (2000), for the University of Florida Journal of Law and Public Policy.
Prior to joining Shaw Gussis, Jarret was an attorney at a prestigious commercial litigation law firm in Atlanta. He also worked previously as a risk management consultant for a nationally recognized consulting firm in Boston.
Jarret is currently active in the Chicago Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Anti-Defamation League’s Greater Chicago/Upper Midwest Region.
Jarret has been recognized as an Illinois “Rising Star” in business litigation by Law & Politics publishing (representing top 2.5% of all Illinois lawyers 40 and under).
